Canon 260 is a standard yield black ink cartridge that prints 180 pages.

Canon 260XL is a high yield black ink cartridge that prints 400 pages.

What is the difference between Canon 260 and 261?

The most difference of Canon 260 and 261 ink cartridge is their color.

Canon 260 is a black ink cartridge, which only contains black ink.

Canon 261 is a tri-color ink cartridge, which contains cyan, magenta and yellow ink.

What’s the difference between their ink?

Canon 260 is filled with pigment ink, which is suitable for printing text.

Canon 261 is filled with Dye-based ink, which can print bright and vivid colors, which is suitable for photo printing.

These two inks need to be used together to provide you with excellent printing results.

How long can Canon 260, 260XL, 261, 261XL last?

Generally speaking, the ink cartridge can be stored for 24-36 months without being opened, but it is also affected by temperature and humidity.

The service life of the ink cartridge is generally determined by the page yield. The page yield of Canon 260 standard yield black ink is 180 pages.

The page yield of Canon 260XL high yield black ink is 400 pages.

The page yield of Canon 261 standard yield tri-color ink is 180 pages.

What is the difference between original 260XL and remanufactured 260XL?

Original 260XL is a new cartridge where all the parts have been made by the same manufacturer as your printer.

Remanufactured 260XL is one that have been recycled, remade and refilled to replace the original cartridge. The damaged parts of the remanufactured ink cartridge will be replaced and cleaned to make a new ink cartridge, which can be used with your printer like a new ink cartridge.

In addition, the original 260XL ink cartridge is the place where manufacturers earn most of their profits, but due to all expenses such as R & D, the price of the original ink cartridge has risen sharply, resulting in high cost of consumables after customers buy printers

For remanufactured 260XL ink cartridges, because the raw materials come from the original ink cartridges, they only need to be processed and re-filled, so they can charge lower prices for the products.

Will using v4ink remanufactured 260XL cartridge damage my printer?

No, using v4ink remanufactured 260XL cartridge will not damage your printer. If only install Canon 260 black ink cartridge, can it print?

No, it isn't. As I mentioned above Canon 260 Black ink cartridge and 261 tri-color ink cartridge need to be installed into the printer at the same time, otherwise, it will not work normally.

What can I do if printer can not recognize the new 260 cartridge?

There are usually two kinds of situations.

One is the ink cartridge is not installed correctly. When installing the ink cartridge, make sure that the protective tape and protective cover are removed and installed in the correct card slot.

Second, the error message is displayed only because the cartridge is remanufactured. There is a chip inside the original ink cartridge to record how many pages have been printed and they cannot be reset. As a result, the printer still reads the information of the old ink cartridge. Therefore, you need to reset your printer manually.

Reset method:

1. Remove all cartridges from the printer.

2. Power off the printer and unplug it from the wall.

3. Place cartridges back in the printer. Allow the printer to sit for 10-15 minutes.

4. Plug in the printer and turn it on.

After the above reset process, your printer should allow you to print now.
